Urban Decay naked 3 palette REVIEW

Yet another review of the naked 3 palette...
There is 12 new shades – three mattes and nine shimmers - in a rose gold metal case (which i love) with a dual-ended eye brush, like the naked 2 but again i don't like their brushes..
It also comes with samples of each of their primers.

All 12 shades

Strange – “Pale neutral pink matte-satin“. This is great as a base or brow highlighter.
Dust – “Metallic pink shimmer with glitter“. A great glittery pale pink shade.
Burnout – “Light pinky-peach satin“. Great for all over the lid for a subtle look, i like to mix it with the shade Dust.
Limit – “Light dusty rose matte“. This is more of a crease shade for me, definitely warms the eye and is buildable to create a deeper look.
Buzz – “Metallic rose shimmer with silver glitter“. A shade i use A LOT! i like to use as a pop of colour in the centre of the lid.
Trick - “Light metallic pinky-copper shimmer with tonal sparkle“. Lovely rusty gold shade perfect for nights out.
Nooner – “Medium pinky-brown matte“. Another great crease shade, blends beautifully as a transition colour with 'Limit'. An all over lid shade too, the matte finish is like butter as it glides across the lid. Love it.
Liar – “Medium metallic mauve shimmer“. The most gold of the golden shades.
Factory – “Pinky-brown satin“. Lovely mixed with the mattes. Outer-eye crease shade or lid.
Mugshot – “Metallic taupe shimmer with slight pink shift“.I'd say its my least fave shade. I would prefer it if it was a matte shade.
Darkside – “Deep taupe-mauve satin“. A deep purple brown shade. I love this one, its great for a smoky eye - day or night.
Blackheart - “Smoky black matte with rosy red micro-sparkle“. This and darkside look great together for a smoky look. Very similar to Mac Beauty marked shadow.

This is by far my favourite of the three palettes. Do you have a favourite?
Its one of those things that i don't really need but I'm not satisfied unless I have the complete trilogy.. I guess that's what they thought when making these palettes too... you can't just have one.
At £37 it's quite pricey but well worth it. I get a lot of use out of it and it's great for travelling, like on my recent trip to Paris, it was all i needed.

Could this be the best foundation ever..? Nars sheer glow review/foundation match.

Foundation match: I went to Nars in westfield shepherds bush to get a match on the sheer glow foundation.
The guy who helped me was nice, straight to the point and only did was i asked for.
I had no makeup on that day so it would be a correct match, i would advice everyone to do the same!
He first put a colour chart against my face and asked me what section of shade i thought i was (light/medium or dark) I choose medium to which he agreed. He then chose 3 medium shades he thought i might be (fiji, punjab and santa fe), and swatched them in a line near my jaw, and asked me which one wasn't right, to then remove. I chose fiji, and he agreed, it was far too light, and actually is a light shade, its light 5, its too yellow undertoned. I then had to choose from the two that i thought was the correct shade, to which i chose Santa Fe, and he agreed, punjab was too golden.
I thought the way he did it was really great, i think all Nars foundation matches are like this, but it was my first time. I like how they involve you.
Santa Fe is a perfect match for me!

Now to the foundation. Its by far the best foundation i have ever used!
It's £30.50 which yes sounds expensive but compared to most high end foundations its around the same price.

  • It's light on your skin
  • Easy to apply
  • Not thick
  • Medium / Buildable
  • You only need a small amount
  • Lasts all day
  • Gives you a nice complexion, not shiny
  • Evens out skin tone
  • Fragrance free
Its meant for normal / normal to dry skin types, but i have combination skin. My cheeks are normal, forehead and chin can be oily and my nose is mostly dry. I actually find that its better on normal / combination skin types because it can (like most foundations) cling to dry flaky skin. You should exfoliate anyway.
The only thing i don't like about it is that it has no SPF, but it doesn't effect the foundation so its not that bad, its just a personal preference, its always good to have an spf foundation.
Packaging wise, i think its quite cute and compact. I like the glass bottle and the square shape. It doesn't come with a pump which a lot of people don't seem to like. I personally don't mind that it doesn't come with a pump, its not meant to have a one because it's a foundation that need to be shaken before you use it. Having a pump won't shake the foundation that has been left in the tube from the last time you used it.... but you can buy one for £3 if you want to.
If you want a concealer to go with it and your shade is also santa fe, then 'custard' concealer shade is whats recommended by nars, but try before you buy!

I love this foundation, i cannot fault it.
I will most defiantly be purchasing it again.
